Toyota Plans Affordable Hybrid to Compete with Insight

    Given that Honda has essentially copied the Gen 2 styling for their new Insight, perhaps Toyota will return the complement and offer a 2-seater hybrid that looks just like ye olde original Insight. I thought it was wicked cool. That should be possible with a base of $17K or $18K.

    Ohhh... turnabout is fairplay in love and war...

    Wicked cool indeed, especially if it had the super high FE from an OEM
    plug-in arrangement.

    <sigh> Doug... you know that you're torturing us, right? I hope that time comes sooner than later (or maybe it'll be much later and we'll forget that you have secrets to share...).

    I'm sure some of us hope that it's a a derivation of a particular "unmarked" (well it was... it had the emblems removed lol) vehicle that made a special appearance in L.A.


    10 new hybrids eh?

    Prius, RX and HS are 3. New GSh? plus a few new hybridized models? Auris/Matrix hybrid? Avensis? iQ? It's interesting that you said globally because I'm just trying to think what in Europe or Australia could Toyota possibly hybridize and still appeal to the respective markets. Well, you've got me stumped. :)
