I just delayed my trip to Tucson to pick up my car. Because of the weather, PYXIS was about 4 days late getting to Long Beach than I first estimated. I was planning on being in Tucson a week from today. Now it will be two weeks from today. Fourteen days should be enough time to get the car processed and trucked to the dealer.
The weather has caused about a 4 day delay from when I originally estimated PYXIS would arrive at Long Beach. Plus there seems to be a delay in processing the cars through the port which adds a day or two to delivery. I'd add a week to whatever you had planned. Then it may arrive a day or two early. I just put off going to get my car by a week.
New Century 1 has arrived at the Panama Canal probably refueling and remains anchored just outside the canal.

Sorry to hear that, I'm looking forward to hearing about your transaction with the dealer and your drive home. Hang in there...
And now on its way to Jacksonville, FL. Should be there by Saturday and then after a quick turnaround on its way to Newark...........finally! :whoo:
CSAV RIO GREY is on its 20 day journey to Panama. It may have shown up briefly off of Baja. It's not due in BALBOA until the 23rd. Until then it is out of range and off the map.
How about the Overseas Joyce, anyone know where she is? According to my order page my car was shipped on 3/9/12 and it is going to california so I'm assuming it's on the Joyce.
Balboa is the port at the west end of the Panama Canal. Overseas Joyce is coming soon Destination: BENICIA ETA: 2012-03-23 04:00
Overseas Joyce current position appears to be about 1,000 NM West of Benicia. I think my car is on that ship also.
Seriously? You mean it's not just my car being escorted through from the boat straight through customs up to me?
OK, so my Toyota page tells me that my baby is "in transit to port 3/12/12" which, according to you experts, means it is likely on the Indiana Highway bound for Benecia, right? I am in Sacramento, in NorCal. So will my PIP actually be offloaded in Benicia? Then trucked to the dealer? No chance it could be here sooner? I am so excited! I might even take a day off and sit by the dock of the bay, watch the ship come in... I mean, c'mon, this hardly seems right that my PIP is taking a trans-Pacific cruise and I'm here sweating out the wait! The car can't even enjoy any cruise buffets!
Jozo - You are a laugh a minute! The shortest route from Japan is near Siberia and Alaska where there is some of the stormiest weather in the world. It is not likely that this is a "tropical cruise". These ships are hardly any different from a slightly bigger ferry boat that we might find at a New England crossing to Nantucket. But they do the job, over and over again.
So when does Toyota update status? My vehicle was on the PYXIS which has already left Long Beach heading back to Japan. I know the carrier was almost a day and a half late getting into port because of the weather but it did get in on the 19th around 8 in the morning. Order status still shows in transit to port. Is the status update done when the vehicle is receives the in-port final installations/prep work? I know my vehicle was originally scheduled to be prepped on 03/21 and at my dealer by 03/23-03/24. Wondering how much of a delay from the delay in docking.
