And after all, New Jersey gave us Snooki... so we should be grateful... I'll just be glad when my PIP gets to Alexandria, VA...
CSAV RIO GREY is in Newark now, looks like it's heading to a dock; I'm hopeful I'll be driving a new Prius really soon!
CSAV RIO GREY is docked! In the sat photo you'll see a big almost-empty parking lot, which is where I assume they'll offload the cars. It'll be interesting to see if we can see the progress as they start driving cars off the ship.
Did you wonder why it was 9:00pm, and yet daylight in the photo? Those are just Google Earth satellite images from years ago.
Yep, now it's wait on the trucks for your PIP. "Did you wonder why it was 9:00pm, and yet daylight in the photo? Those are just Google Earth satellite images from years ago." Daylight Savings Time? Spot Image Date 6/17/2010 (Also Google Earth) You can zoom to 6 ft. So many white cars must be fleet or rentals. Yes it's been a slow day
How do you know I'm not using (ahem) another satellite imaging source? How do you know that I wasn't in a location where it was daytime when I was looking at the image?
Are there other ships than the ones listed at the top of this thread? I was notified my car left Japan on March 19th. I figured that put it on the Indiana Highway, which docked in Long Beach last week. But when I talked with the dealer over the weekend, he gave me a printout saying my car would arrive in Long Beach on April 4. April 4th is, of course, tomorrow. So I've gone through the entire list of ships to see where they are, and none of them is anywhere near California. None appears even to be headed in this general direction. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? Is my dealer's printout wrong? Or is there another ship?
Thanks PriusKitty Well, from the looks of it there aren't any car carriers arriving in Long Beach tomorrow. Hmm... - Tom
for those who have PiP "in transit to port on March 19th" Altair Leader is now in range, approaching SF should be in LB soon!!!! marinetraffic.com/ais/default.aspx?oldmmsi=432817000&zoom=10&olddate=lastknown
I don't think it would matter if it was daytime at your location.....it was 9pm at the ships location, when it got in, and not at all daylight. I used to think that if it was raining at my house, it was raining at everyones house too.
Diane I'm not expecting a ship every day. The day before yesterday I was told by my dealer that my Prius was on a ship scheduled to arrive in Long Beach on April 4th. I couldn't find evidence of such a ship on MarineTraffic.com. I posted here because I wanted to know whether there was a ship that fits that description that I was unable to find, or if my dealer was feeding me bs. I think I know now. - Tom
Tom, some dealers do NOT know how to read their arrival estimations. It may also be BS in the sense that whoever's looking at the arrival estimate hasn't a clue how to decipher it.
