i don't have my pip yet, i think there are some threads here on extension cords. the trick is to know the gauge you need for the distance because stranded wire (ext. cords) doesn't carry as much amperage as solid. (romex) plus, i'm not sure if the gfci works properly if the charge cord is plugged into the ext. cord is plugged into the gfci. all this is probably why toyota doesn't even open the door to ext. cords. again, trial and error i suppose.

Impressed at your mad skillz -- running cable with one hand and typing PC replies with the other. Or do you have prehensile toes?

 

I wouldn't be to concern about charging, I have a Nissan Leaf and I have plugged in it's 115 a number of places without any problem. When home I use my 220 of course and will use in about a week with the new Prius when I'll have my pip also.

 

Will hear from my dealer sometime today. I work 8:30 to 5:00 today so won't know till I get off work.:mod:

 

April 6 I got the email to Start getting charged up because your new Prius Plug-in is on its way to Toyota Of Nashua.. Im assuming my PiP is on New Century.. wonder how long it takes to get to NH.

 

On NEW CENTURY 2? because NEW CENTURY 2 just arrived at NEWARK on April 8th. So your pip wasn't even on a truck yet. Maybe yours was on NEW CENTURY 1?

Hi All. My first post to the chat forum.
I believe my PIP is on the Cetus Leader due to arrive in Long Beach CA tomorrow. I can see it on the marine transport map and I believe it will dock tomorrow morning.
My car left Japan on 3/24. I live nearby and have already driven around the Long Beach dock parking area to see the other PIP's parked there from the last ship over the Easter weekend. That is how excited I am. My poor 2007 Prius might be feeling a little sad right now but I hope to send it to a new owner ver, very soon.

 

Looks like our PIP's are off the ship because NEW CENTURY 2 "has left the building"

I was scheduled to be loaded yesterday (4/9) for transport presumably to Benicia. Any idea what ship that might be?

Thanks. Its position shown on this page is off Japan, heading northeast. And my dealer's status shows estimated departure 4/9, arrival 4/21. So that's all consistent.

I just have to wait for the dealer's database to update. It lagged by a couple of business days on the build.

 

Priuskitty and Mikenewmediary, have your dealers given you an estimated delivery date yet? Mine was delivered on the New Century 2 also, and my dealer is less that helpful. Thank you.
