Pyxis Leader...Just spoke to the Dealer...4/19 is the arrival date. It's going to Benicia, CA then to Long Beach, CA. Why cant it go to Long beach first then to Benicia!!!
Cetus Leader Update::cheer2: It is currently docked and unloading in Long Beach/Los Angeles and I ventured over to take some pictures. However, Toyota security/Harbor security is not fond of picture taking. So the pictures below are taken as we drive by...not ideal. Saw many PIP's spread throughout their gigantic Toyota Logisitcs lot and even spotted one being loaded onto a truck for delivery (see last blurry photo), there are many trucks waiting to get loaded for delivery. The Cetus Leader is scheduled to arrive back in Japan on 4/25/12 for it's next load.
Hey! I think I saw my blue PiP!!! Or maybe it's the other blue one. Well, it's one of the blue ones!!!! Thanks for the pix - very cool! Do you have a car in that shipment?
Cetus Leader left PORT for Japan and another load. The ships sure don't stay any longer than necessary, do they … I noticed that Cetus Leader must have offloaded on Easter, because it was only in Benicia for one day - on Easter Sunday. I wonder if the ship leaves here empty or takes anything back to Japan?
How and when can we find out the arrival date and time of a vessel? I see that once they get close to shore there is AIS tracking available. But I'm curious to know when the ship will enter San Francisco Bay.
Thanks. If I were going to go look for the ship's arrival, how trustworthy are those times? Do they get updated as the ship is at sea?
Arrival times for delivery trips are usually within a day plus some time for weather delay. Return trip timing depends on export demand. No updates when they are out of range. Missed the Texas as I was sitting in traffic on I64 and I95 between DC and VA Beach Sat. and Sun. Down and right back. Never saw sand or sea but did have to detour around the jet crash site on the way to the house. Almost $200 in gas for the Honda van ouch!
Thanks. How close in to shore is "in range"? In addition to the various AIS position reporting sites, I found this weather info reporting site which (based on the vessel tracks) seems to go as far as 150 miles offshore.
My car arrived on the CSAV RIO GREY, so I'm wondering if that's the ship yours was on too. I spoke to my dealership yesterday, and the date I got was 4/20. Today, however, I was told 4/11-4/16, so I'm still hopeful that it'll arrive in time for me to fly to Virginia on Friday morning. Bob
If my experience is any judge, it might slip a day; the CSAV RIO GREY was supposed to arrive on 3/31, but actually pulled to the dock on the night of 4/1. It apparently offloaded quickly, because it was leaving the dock the very next day. I'm now *impatiently* waiting for the car to get to the dealership in Alexandria, VA...
I see we can track where our pip is on a ship, is there any way to track what truck our pip's are on?
my PiP was unloaded at Long Beach on March 30Th... Presumably, of Altair Leader. I got the VIN from my dealer shortly after. Now it's been almost 2 weeks. You're saying there was only one truck for the entire parking lot? This is funny... Customer Relations Manager at Toyota Carlsbad doesn't pick up the phone and doesn't return calls. Left 3 messages in the last week. Aren't there enough trucks or drivers in this country, or workers at the dock? Who says unemployment is high? What's the hold up now?? My dealer can't say anything. Does anybody know how long it takes to load the car on the truck and hit 5 South. It is only an hour drive... What in the world is going on there? At least we could track the ship, who is tracking trucks? And why can't you go there and buy your car out from the port? And one other thing. I had "arrived at US port" clearly marked on my order page, the following day after Altair docked at LB. Few days later that mark mysteriously disappeared. Now it doesn't show. What does that mean?
New Nada Destination: BENICIA ETA: 2012-04-25 08:00 (UTC) More Prius C's for Dianne @ Carson Please 4/21 to Newark most likely the Sunbelt Spirit . CONTINENTAL HIGHWAY precedes it to Newark. Pyxis is out of dry dock in Japan. Might have grounded at Benicia in Feb. No to the trucks. Range depends on radio signals, time of day sunspots and the moon , where the AIS receiver is located ect.
