Now that it's out in the wild with rumors of some being spotted on the road, has anyone seen a release date? It's now live on the official Toyota page with TSS-P feature now on every trim.

I was at the dealership today to buy a 2016 model and while I was there I saw the 2017 on my phone. Now my car being sold to me is on pause .

How would you know that you have spotted a 2017? Is there any distinguishing external feature? I don't think so!

Only for Two and Two Eco as they will have the camera for TSS-P on the windshield. All other models will look the same.

How about those black wheels on some models? And is the interior a little different on one of the models?
I think Mendel posted some pictures recently.

You're thinking of the Netherlands special edition models.

If you see any Prius with the 15" wheel + TSS-P camera WITHOUT the moonroof. That's a 2017.

2016s sound like a great deal right now...

Especially if you want one of the touring trims. I can't see that they'll be different in any noticeable respect... except for price. The deals to be had are now, or wait for a year. I was hoping that Toyota would refresh the Prius V for 2017. I was thinking that might be the way for me to go. But their commitment to that model became clear with their early release of the 2017 and no changes whatsoever. Bland and boring. I'm glad I sprung for the Gen 4.

    +1 @kenji4861

If you're looking to purchase, the 2016 is where it's at right now. Otherwise you will be paying a premium in interest charges (if you're financing) and/or losing out on the $2k extra cash. You pay to play, and if the latest and greatest is what you want without much wait, then go for it.

Looks like Toyota borrowed a page from Henry Ford.

The 2017 3 Touring comes in any color you want -- so long as it's black.

Plenty of other color limitations for othe models and packages, too.

Are these real restrictionsor just a byproduct of starting production. When I first saw the 2017's, a Four with PCP was available in only one color. That seems to have changes. No beige interiors for any trim level?

No more "old man" Harvest Beige?

That means my Prius will be a collector's item! :D

Good question/point. In Toyota's configurator, some options are listed as "out of inventory" which suggests their absence may be temporary. In other instances, you see something like this:

Interesting how in the USA market, they sell a 2017 model now which is closer and closer to what we get in EU standard since launch. TSS-P is standard on all models since Gen4 launch. It's like as if they tried out to sell it with less base feature and lure people in higher grades, whereas in EU they thought they needed everything practically standard, to make it attractive enough to sell it.
PS: the price list in EU hasn't changed since launch in Feb. 2016. The current price list and option list is the same as in Apr. 2016 in Germany.
