Thanks for that! Very straight up and unbiased "every man" reviews. One thing: his mpg results are in all cases garnered from the dash display. Now who would benefit if those were purposely optimistic?

I think Toyota too is starting to miss the point Bob. The 4th gen has technically taken a big step, but methinks the designers need reining in.

Whether from the car's computer or an individual spreadsheet, the Prius would still be best mileage.

I value your opinion and trust you'll accept mine. I like that my car's design isn't run of the mill and is SciFi modernistic. My body may be antiquated but my brain still thinks I'm in my early twenties.

I value your opinion too, and all the likes. Things I'm thinking about, for example: the headlights. There's a wee, round actual light, in the middle of that vast swooping glass sculpture. The replacement cost of that piece of artwork (in the event of the collision) is an affront to "efficient transportation". It's "glass jaw" personified, lol.

All of them over 10 seconds 0 to 60 mph time, wheeeeee :)

You see how Ioniq got less economy for the tester? It's rated higher mpgs isn't it, Ioniq?

I like that my car doesn't look like all the other boring cars on the road. So many of the new cars look like the "same old same old" to me. I also like the efficiency, reliability, technology, and the safety features (which I affectionately call the creature comforts).

I would like better seats and a stiffer suspension (there's my LFa love!), but my Gen 4 is definitely a winner in my book.

Yes, but at that level of efficiency, it wouldn't take much for one to best the other in any review or test drive. Were they all done on the same day? What trims?
    Compare Side-by-Side

And some don't want their car to stand out like a Prius. Choice is good for all of us.

With a cracked lens, repaired though.

The going price for new is not that much more, I think that EBay seller is optimistic. A mere $765 (plus shipping):

Composite Headlamp - Toyota (81070-47740) | Toyota Parts

If someone would come out with a vehicle with utilitarian, effective bumpers, and $20 sealed-beams, I'd be all over it.

    But those days are gone,
    we progress,
    I guess.

For comparison, 3rd gen, from the same place:

    Regular: $219
    LED: $533 (Our type, sob!)

I love this reviewer, I always find that his views on a car align pretty accurately with my own and he and his team go to long lengths to achieve good production values.
