Lexus today unveiled the all-new 2013 GS 350 as a prelude to the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the first car that represents a new styling direction for the brand.

The new GS is powered by an advanced 3.5-liter V-6, that develops 306 horsepower. Lexus calls it one of the most powerful base engines in the segment, capable of moving the GS from 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds and at the same time, fuel economy has been improved.

One of the ways the car gets better gas mileage is with an Eco setting that changes the engine's throttle and the climate-control system. To know you're in it at night, the instrument controls turn blue.

There's a sport mode for performance. It changes the lighting to red.

The suspension is lighter and stronger, and there are ventilated disc brakes featuring four-piston aluminum front calipers. The car comes to showrooms early next year.
