    Well, we'll probably have to stick with Lithium EVs for a few generations until the range can be doubled.

    2000 kwh would produce a range of 5000 to 8000 miles. That isn't competitive?:confused:

    (I'll blame it on some misunderstanding by the reporter, not the engineer being quoted.)

    No blame it on toyota not being very clear. DBM/Audi and Tesla have already demonstrated great range. Toyota is just hyping the next thing so that analyst ignore they won't have the current thing for over a year. Li chemistry are just starting to expand usefull life/ kwh/kg, and decreasing $/kwh while kw/kg and kw/litre are already in good shape.
