I am purchasing a second set of wheels (rims, tires, tpms sensors) for my Prius 2012 for the summer.

I have narrowed down my choices to MSW Type 19T, Michelin Defender T+H tires (195/65/R15). The last remaining bit is the tpms sensors. I do like the Denso option (550-0103) from summitracing. However, that would mean buying rims and tires unmounted and having a local shop do the install, which is cumbersome. Not to mention some shops do not want to install customer provided tpms.

At the same time, it is not clear to me what sensors tirerack is installing. For my vehicle, they show the following sensor, but no manufacturer is listed.

    Tire Rack

I am basically wondering if anyone has experience with these sensors and if it makes sense for me to go for them. They are certainly a bit more expensive than the Denso I can get from summitracing, but I will probably end up paying even more for having a shop do the install whereas tirerack will do it all for free.

If I was buying my own wheels tires and so on I would buy my TPMS sensors from the guy who sells them to me for $44 for a set in Toyota boxes and mount tpms my self take wheels to tyre guy for mounting tyres and balancing.
