Techstream showed modules 4 and 5 to be very bad. Wild voltage swings from 17 volts down to 13 volts compared to the other modules.

I took the battery apart and tested each cell (2 cells pair monitored pair) and found 2 bad cells but not in modules next to each other.

This leads me to believe the pair ordering isn't sequential. Does anyone know what the pairs map to from the physical battery to the Techstream data screen?

Yes. There are (28) individual 7.2 volt modules in a Gen 2 HV battery.
The module furthest from the ecu end of the battery is module #1.
The module closest to the ecu is module #28

    Block 1 is modules 1 and 2
    Block 2 is modules 3 and 4
    and so on until
    Block 14 is modules 27 and 28

To help us all be on the same page with terminology, each 7.2v module is built using six (1.2v) internal cells. The 6 cells are encapsulated in the plastic body.

2 modules make a block as described above
14 blocks make a Gen 2 HV battery assembly

The car can only monitor a pair. Monitor wires all on one side. You can separate pairs and replace single batt cells.
