    Not known from first report. Nor trouble codes from dlrship visit, which seem important to know.

    Second email from victim suggests he will buy a new traction battery. For about the price of pangolin scales. Seems to imply operator values the vehicle.

    Also asked if it could run gasoline only, which seems to imply a glovebox containing a never-opened Lexus ES 300h owner's manual.

    If not, maybe check for a wreck of either the ES300h or hycam for a newer year.
