I live up in Western Pennsylvania and we got hit with the recent Winter Storm Harper. I have some ice build up from the roads. This morning I went and started my car and when i came back up the lights for the traction control, the brakes, that ABS system were on. I recycled the vehicle through shutting it off and turning it back on. The lights were still there. I drove around for a bit and they still didn't go out. I let it sit and went out and started it again to head to work about 45 minutes away and they lights were on my whole drive. I do work at a Toyota Dealership and i am having them take a look at it. I just wanted some other ideas as to what it could be. Is it the ice buildup? Or maybe a sensor?

probably just ice, should melt inside the work bay if there long enough.

possible a sensor harness got torn up though, how many miles on her?

at 93k, it is also possible to have a bad bearing or sensor, especially in road salt areas

The mechanic came and told me that it is most likely a ABS Sensor and he is ordering one. If that doesn't fix the problem they also said that it could be a whole wheel bearing. They also found that one of the hinges on my hood is broken! Good thing they are only 13 bucks on RockAuto!

Update: They have my car all tore apart and they are waiting on the new parts. Although a perk of working here is that i get to drive a brand new Camry! It's pretty sweet!

The rear wheel bearing assembly can be pricy depending on the make that replaced it. I know when I helped a member out here a couple of years back the assembly from a local dealer was $150. So an hour on top of that isn’t bad.

The sensor is integrated into the assembly, so they are not meant to be separated.

    Part of our disposable society.

    Glad it is sorted out(y).
