We still need to see what happens with the soybeans: it depends on China's ability to source them elsewhere. Sorghum, though....

On the bright side, lots of my Australian farming friends grow soybeans, sorghum and beef cattle. They're going to be a lot richer because of Trump's policies.

And... the town close to the town I grew up in in Britain makes wings for Airbuses, and quite a few of my former schoolmates work there. Trump just guaranteed all those Airbus workers a job for years to come.

So, every cloud.... Trump might impoverish Americans, and cause a global recession, but some individuals in Europe and Australia will benefit.

Not with all that lasagne and explosions, surely?

DO NOT EVER MIX YOUR BABY WITH WATER, EGGS, BAKING POWDER, SUGAR AND MARGARINE AND PUT IT IN AN OVEN AT 130C FOR 90 MINUTES.

It might be what they taught you at school, but just don't.

I'm going to Vietnam in a couple of weeks. I shall check whether people wear those Vietnamese conical straw hats when driving. I'm betting no.

After Vietnam, I am going to Britain. If I see any soldiers wearing bearskin hats while driving, I shall let you know.

I'd have thought a good ten-gallon hat would cost much more than that. It looks like a high-quality product that would take expensive materials and a lot of skilled labour.

I just don't like wearing hats.

Also, I don't like wearing sunglasses, but that is drifting off topic a bit.

That was just a quick glance at a Google result page.
Wool felt ones are along what I quoted before. The price can quickly climb with fur felt.

I never was much on wearing hats before, but my red hair doesn't cover as much as before, and I already had one basal cell carcinoma removed.

Here's to Panama hats. Finest come from Ecuador (as the name unsuggests) and sell for USD$10K.

You can get giant foam ones in Blackpool for £5. But I would imagine JR's was expensive.

Ah, yes. It sounds like a hat is a good idea for you. Or a burqa.

Perhaps Trump should start a trade war with Ecuador. A 10% tariff on hats would raise hundreds of money.

No.... Filled with tiniest softest fibers of a particular palm. Like nothing you've ever touched.

As promised by sales brochures. Actually you can get a decent one for $500. Mine is ...just a hat of much lower quality. Not made in Ecuador but I bet you can guess where.

I never understood why Red Sox fans wore baseball caps on their heads instead of red socks.

By extrapolation, that would mean Chicago White Sox fans would need to wear white socks on their heads, and that would look silly.

This from a citizen of a nation that plays........cricket.

I'm not surprised that you're confused, but it's really quite simple.....which is probably the biggest hurtle for you....because it literally is very simple.
Kinda the opposite of cricket. ;)

    Their logo:

They used to be....literally...the "red stockings" or a team formed from former "red stockings players" from another city.
Stories vary, but around the turn of the last century, they just changed their name to the Red Sox of Bastan and the other "red stockings" just became.....the Reds, of Cincinnati.

No.....not the UK kinda reds, which is a "little" different from the American republican kind of reds......
They're just another nickname for 'red stockings.'

If we are to extrapolate that far, the lives of Detroit fans would be seriously at risk with what they'd have to put on their heads.

Given previous scandals - and knowing that we have to abide by FHoPancakes rules, I am not going anywhere near what St Louis fans would have to have on their heads. But I'm willing to bet the Church would deny that it had ever happened.

I will never understand cricket. I am even less likely to like it. On the bright side, at least they are consistent with their socks.

But thank you for the explanation.

Yes, I'd feel more comfortable on the beach dressed like that.

    Australian invention, btw.

We can add it on our impressive list of things Australians have invented, next to some of Wi-Fi (but not Hedy Lamarr's bit), the rotary washing line and not much else.

Have you ever seen the film? It's brilliant. Even Mel Gibson couldn't ruin it.
