I'm so excited! I love love love it! Got a decent trade for my 2013 Insight, so now I'm a two Prius family. Drove my new Sea Glass Pearl 2015 Prius off the showroom floor last night.

What made you decided to get rid of the Insight? What was the draw back on the former?

Good move...except for the "Sea Glass Pearl" part....

Hey...I own a Sea Glass Pearl...so I can self trash the color!

So nobody bother to tell me how much they like the color.

It could be called "Baby Boy Nursery Blue"...bad for a car...good for a Bob Dylan tune.

You guys just can't handle the truth!
We are literally driving Jeff Dunham's punchline.

    To the OP?
    I kid because, I care.
Really? I do own a Sea Glass Pearl. Would I buy it again? No.
But it's not really so bad. In the evening it looks almost light gray...
At night? It almost looks good.

So if I squint during the day, and relax at night...it's a great color.

Congrats on the beautiful new Prius! I thought you leased the insight though?

I got rid of the Insight because Toyota is having some really good rebates right now on the 2015 Prius (my assumption is to gear up for the release of the G4).

Not only that, at the time in 2013, when I traded in my old Prius, I wanted a new Prius, but I couldn't afford the payment on one at the time, and I didn't like the Prius c too much. So Honda gave me a great deal on a new Insight and the Insight didn't look like a cheap car. I thought, "What the heck, I'll try something new! Maybe I'll like it." Boy, was I ever wrong...

I still have the G2 2006 Prius with 59,000 miles now. And I said goodbye to the Insight. Boy, the drive home after trading in the Insight was scary... cause everyone thinks about what they just did.... but I was comforted because I'm constantly reminded now how much smoother, roomier, and easier the Prius is to get in and out of than the small, low, cramped Insight.

The Insight isn't a bad car. It would be a perfect car for a student, or high school kid, or something like that, but as a people hauler, or commuter, it was very uncomfortable, and the drive-train with its IMA system was so jerky, and the performance was so inconsistent.

The color is a love it or hate it thing. I can clearly see that. I personally have always loved it. It looks silver in some light, looks blue in other light, and green. I specifically requested this color! Haha. I also have the bisque interior that I like. I keep my cars very clean, so I'm not worried about stains. I like the light interior, especially in the winter or on dark, gloomy days because it feels and looks so warm and cozy. And doesn't get a bajillion degrees!

Thank you! I've always loved this color! They've had it in Japan since 2009 on the G3 and I always wanted it, but we didn't get it till 2012. I'll have to post more photo's sometime.

Thanks! I did lease the Insight. Basically, Toyota paid off the entire balance owed on the Insight, which was like 14,700 or something like that to release the title.

I have the ''Sea Glass Pearl'' color on my 2014 also. It is my understanding that the green ones ride better, get better mpg, are faster, and will attract all the good looking ladies. Guess it works--- I am recently married........

Enjoy. And ignore my personal discontent.

Color's are very subjective, and even with my personal discontent with the color, I'd say it's really not too bad. Like you say, it's very mercurial, it's look's different in different light.

I'm just being honest when I say I wouldn't buy it again, BUT I understand that colors and what colors people like are very subjective to the individuals. If you got the color you like? Then you have the color you like.

My mistake was being impulsive on the day I bought mine....if you actually got the color you requested? You didn't make the same mistake I made.

Cool car, Prius v (lowercase v for the Prius v wagon) wagon here, I love Seaglass, was a toss between that or Blue Ribbon Metallic. But lighter colors tend to get less hot, appear less dirty and can hide scratches better. Out of all the colors its the most versatile always changing. In the the sun its absolutely awesome, shines like a tropical beach. Under the shade or cloudy days its more subdued almost blue/gray and at night looks almost silver.

With Honda hybrids they drive a bit differently feel bit quicker but aren't as consistent fuel efficient wise. You made a good choice, Priuses just transition and drive smoother and always hit the mpg mark, sometimes higher.

That's very true. We came from an 06 Civic Hybrid. It's still in the family, and I have an opportunity to drive it occasionally. The gas pedal feels surprisingly touchy, and it's really starting to show it's age, lots of creaks and groans.

I got the Sea Glass Pearl. Thought it was a odd name, but I like the color. Here's mine the day before I drove it home from the dealership.

Nice to see a comparison and someone moving from one to the other, I had my eye on an insight and went to see a few but after reading into them more the prius seems to offer a lot more and I believe they will hold the value more, yes the insight is cheaper but do i want to rush and get something that I am not 100% happy with or wish I had got something else. So that is why I will wait and save that bit extra to get the Prius. Glad you like the Prius keep us updated on how you get on with it.
