Transaxle Temp Sensor

Op has still not done what I asked which is go to toyota.com and join and see what the codes are. Glancing at the bill is meaningless.

Well its too bad the OP didnt come here saying he had a "tranny" temp issue, we could've had so much more fun with that one!!

 

Someone posted a comprehensive teardown analysis of the transaxle and inverter system a while ago.

The only temperature sensor depicted was a thermistor in the inverter coolant loop in the exit stream of the cooler section of the stack.

Unfortunately, it can only be accessed with major disassembly of the inverter.

I don't believe that the thermistor has a high failure rate.

On that account, I still would check the connectors and wiring. It is most likely that the issue is there.

 

You might be right. I have the schematics for a G2 but not a G3 so cannot decode A21 as the OP posted. Take 30 seconds to go to TIS and buy a subscription.
The codes would tell us what the car was unhappy about.

 

sorry to bring this back up but does any one have diagram to the inverter or plug a21?
my dealer says i have a short on this plug on pin 21 and they are charging me 5000+ to fix
i have a 2011 prius. thank you
