Your concern is not without merit. I've washed my engine a few times, but not often. No problems, but I just use the shower head setting on my hose nozzle to keep it gentle.

But there is this little nugget in my PiP owners' manual. It was probably written by lawyers, but still something to think about.

Actually check ur oil forst thing in the AM, then start the engine and see how much the level drops. I get over a quart and a half more out by doing my oil changes on a cold motor. I'll never do a hot oil change again!

I wouldn't spray water in there, asking for trouble. You can clean with just brushes, vacuum, compressed air, a damp cloth if really needed. There ARE some vulnerable connectors, the low voltage connector on AC for example: short that out and you're looking at a big bill.

Yeesh, I have one "Yes" for water, one "Yes but you probably shouldn't", and one "No". Maybe I should start a poll

The beauty of the forum is u can filter out those who know nothing from the experts. Just block the idiots so u don't read their nonsense. Then all ull b left w is the smart people. A poll does away w screening out the dip$h1ts

The dealerships been doing this all the time with brand new vehicles. Newer vehicles are more insulated than older 90’s vehicles. If you’re unsure about certain things, then you can cover it up. Vehicles now a days aren’t fragile, especially with their electrical connectors. But it is your vehicle, so do what you feel is safe. (y)
