TRD Lowering Springs?

    Thanks. I was gonna installed eibach or TRD but its not drop enough, tein got issue with rubbing for my set (too low), so i got it in between....;)

    I did some research before deciding to go with the TRD springs myself.. Here's what I found..

    Tein HTech Springs - 1.4" drop (front) and 1.5" drop (rear)

    TRD Springs - 1.1" drop (front) and 1.3" drop (rear)

    Eibach - 1.2" drop (front) and 0.8" drop (rear)

    I went with 18" wheels, so the Tein HTech springs were a little too much (I thought), but the Eibach's were no enough.. So, went with the TRD instead.. I also wanted to stay away from rubbing, and figured I used Toyota parts as well..

    Rickel, would you mind adding the spring rates in your post for future reference? The drop information is good but the spring rates will help people determine how tight or cushy a spring is.

    Look at the difference in front to rear drop between the TRD and the Eibachs. :eek:

    I found that rather odd as well. If that is really the case then it really strengthens my appreciation for Eibach springs. I don't like the "level" look and the Eibachs seem to provide a little more of a rake (front end lower than the rear). Once I finally get around to it those are the springs I'll likely get.

    I measured all four corners before and after my Eibachs. It is actually 1.0" in the front and 1.0" in the rear. I am sure there is some percentage of tolerance in the springs and car parameters. The balance front to rear is spot on...but cannot go any lower or it will rub (at least with my rims and tires). And I would not want to go up on the spring rate...quite stiff as it is.

    I've got close to 1000 miles on my eibachs now and I have two of the exact same cars in the garage, the other is completely stock. My fronts are 1.25" lower in the front and my rears are 1.5" lower. But the fender gap is exactly the same. I do have a little bit more weight on the back with the curt hitch and bike rack, so i suspect that may be resulting in a slightly larger drop in back. But for sure it's no more than .25".

    I've asked this question before but it never really gets answered........why dont more people go with H&R springs?

    H&R shows a spec drop of 1.3" front & 1.2" rear

    Maybe that explains why some have asked why mine looks lower compared to Eibachs.

    I had this(H&R) on order & nearly bought it but canceled last minute after I saw couple members here on Eibachs. Maybe, if I had seen some prius examples on H&R's I might have gone through with it as it's hard being the guinea pig:D.
