I work at an auction facility. we get a lot of repos and lease turn ins. I have to diagnose whats wrong with the cars and fix em if the company that owns it wants to pay for the repair. a celica with a blown clutch and a bunch of ricer mods came in, I traded oil caps with it. the bank that owns it and the bidders don't care about modifications; they prefer the car to be stock.

the shop is hot and dirty, the repo'd cars are disgusting inside, and they sit out in the sun and cook all the half eaten food and used diapers the dead beat left in the car. they stink so bad you wouldn't believe it. some are infested with insects. but sometimes its not too bad.

moral of story: go to college so you don't end up working in a garage...

oh yeah, some of the cars come in with Chinese chrome bling wheels and other stupid overpriced accessories, and fifty-seven lottery scratch tickets all over the floor mixed in with mcD and kfc bags, but the idiot couldn't pay their car payment. can't fix stupid...

Oh you have my sympathies 69Shovlhed, I worked in a customs garage and the nicest cars seemed to always be the most trashed. Not to mention the Texas heat in a giant metal garage was an oven.

Well in south Texas the Texans are all the rage (cue eye roll), the heat is pretty outrageous though even in the "winter". I have a fretless and a fretted bass each, both ibanez so kinda cheap but perfect for throwing around at gigs and such.

I have an ibanez btb575 made in Indonesia. you'd think it was junk, but the fit and finish are really good. bartolini p'ups and preamp. 35" scale neck thru, pretty tight low B.

I have the SDGR fretlett form Ibanez and the GIO fretted by them, I love the fretted for the industrial tone used more so in the ska band I play in and the fretless I use more so for jazz and swing applications because its most similar to an upright and has a really jazzy tone.

I like the sound of fretless, but I'm too much of a spaz. I'd get lost without frets and dots. I did play an upright at a party once when my friend got too drunk and fell out...

Out of curiosity, how is your cold air intake working out for you? I have been playing around with the idea of fabbing something up for mine, but why reinvent the wheel if something already

well, it looks cool, and it was fun making it, but I don't think it actually does anything. if I could remove the stock airbox, which necks down right before the throttle blade, perhaps it would help.

Does it affect engine noise at all? I kinda want my car to be louder, but don't wanna put a cherry bomb on it because its not a ricer.
