Have driven my Prius about 60 miles since changing the HV battery and all these lights just came on.

Haven't hooked up tech stream however used torque pro and my maxilink ML619 and see no stored or pending codes across the entire car.

I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing in tech stream. However I'm using common sense

    Seeing these codes

    P3000 battery control system

P0A84 Hybrid Battery Pack Cooling Fan 1 control circuit low

So that's basically saying there's an issue with the battery control system

    And the fan cooling it

By that does it mean the computer for the battery is having an issue? Or is it just the fan possibly?

I couldn't get tech stream to test the fan

However the ancient laptop I'm running this on had the battery die.

So I will attempt to test again

    Side note

    THIS SOFTWARE IS COOL!

On a side note if this helps I DID check the HV battery ECU connector before finishing the battery installation.

It didn't look dirty or corroded.

However I will also say the fan was absolutely filthy before I cleaned it out.

The codes are coming from different computers.

The P0A84 is coming from the computer inside the battery, and it's telling you about a specific problem. Probably something to do with control of the fan, but those one-line fortune cookies usually aren't enough to pin down the problem. Looking up the code in the repair manual (more info) and following the troubleshooting steps given there will usually do the trick.

The P3000 is from the hybrid control computer up in the front of the car. It's just telling you that it heard the battery computer has something to tell you, which would be the P0A84.

So odds are these codes are related to each other.

It's not odds. P3000 is a hybrid ECU code that literally means "go deal with your battery ECU code."

    I like your style.

I'll take a look at the connector for the can tomorrow and check for corrosion.

I'll also try testing it though techstream if that's possible

    Very new to this software

I haven't looked at the repair manual workup instructions for P0A84 recently. That would be a worthwhile step. It might tell you that some of the things you are planning to check won't tell you much about this problem, while other checks you're not thinking of would.

A common problem with the Gen 2 Prius is leaky rear hatch seals. Often these leaks lead to the wiring for the HV fan. Check the plug next to the fan. They can rot away from getting wet.

Now that you mention it... I noticed water in the rear of this car when changing the battery. Right where that compartment is on the driver's side next to the storage bin.

I was wondering how that got in there.

When I was replacing the HV battery didn't notice any water on the passenger side where the fan and wiring is located.

However I will definitely be checking this tomorrow.

What's the best fix for the leaks?

The cheap fix is small holes drilled in the low spot where the water is collecting. These are old cars.;)

Dude where were you a month ago

I'd take a new set of modules all day long for 850.

I feel like I got ripped off now )':

I doubt Brad is selling new cells modules HV batteries for $850. More like a top-notch reconditioned HV battery, which I still would take given the correct use-case scenario.

If they were new, well, that would be something else!

do not know what shipping is but if the quality is there that's a great deal

I went with 2nd life batteries due to the price and recommend off here

In tech stream they all were very very close voltage wise. do not know if that's a sign of a gooden or not but looks good to me

It is certainly a plus until they aren't. Long may it be that they remain close in voltage and capacity (which is as important also).

The bottom plastic ventilation duct for the battery has a sensor in it. Perhaps that sensor helps control the fan? Did you disconnect it when you disassembled the rear of the car to remove the battery? Perhaps you forgot to plug it in when you reassembled the car.
