Hey everyone I've been lurking around here for a while trying to figure out how to fix my trunk problem. Just recently I tested my base battery and it was bad. Just bought a new battery and charged her after installing. Now the trunk is still not opening any ideas? I didn't put all the plastic pieces back in could that be the issue? Just trying to fix it myself due to COVID. Key Fob is also recognized when approaching drivers door and unlocked. Just bought it used from a dealership in November and have had this issue just not any time to fix it. Any help would be amazing.

Did you catch a piece of the plastic on the door latch?
Are the rest of the doors opening? You can climb through the back seat, remove the plastic
cover right where the back lid latch is, and then you can unlatch the trunk manually.
Hopefully you didn't catch anything in their, it will make it hard to open.

No sound when I press the button. When I press the right button it locks the doors so I am not sure if it is a wiring problem.

    can you clarify?

if you press the button on the hatch with the fob on you, no sound? if so, i would say pull the inner panel off the hatch and check the wiring, or maybe a bad electro lock.

then again, i'm not familiar with the one door sks models. if that's what you have, (i know it's not a plug in base :p) i guess you have to use the fob button to unlock?

Could you open the door before you replaced the battery?

When I first got the prius in november the Hatch would open but since probably January it hasn't opened. When I press the button it makes no sound. The button next to the latch that locks the doors has always work with the old battery and the new. I'll try and look at the wiring but not to savvy with anything mechanical. Might have to bite the bullet and contact the dealership to repair it. Thank you so much for the help. I appreciate it a lot.

Are you able to unlock all 4 door with your remote?
If so, what happens after you unlocked all four door and then try to open your hatch?

I am able to unlock all doors with my roommate. I just cleaned out some pebbles where the door locks didn't do anything. I did notice finally because it has been quiet that when I press the button it makes a faint clicking noise but that is it. I will look up how to clean the egr circuit and try and do that tonight or tomorrow. Once again thank you so much for all the help.
