Is there gas in the car?
What is SOC of hybrid battery?
What is voltage of hybrid battery?

    Other ideas...
    Clean MAF
    Clean throttle body
Wipe excess oil from top of intake.

Try starting by spraying some starter fluid down the intake. Can you keep it running with that as fuel?
    Confirm fuel pump is working.
    Confirm fuel pressure is 42psi.

    Three items required:

    Air (and air flow measurement)
Fuel (pump running, building pressure and injectors firing at correct time)
Ignition (strong spark at correct time, what controls spark timing? cam position sensor? crank position sensor? If the ECU doesn't know where the piston is in the engine cycle, it can't know when to initiate the spark.

Wasn't there a recent poster that actually had a mouse nest in his throttle body that blocked air flow? Just an example of strange things that can happen.

I had one where a cap from the coil packs was on top of the throttle body. Car was towed to my shop because the other shop did not want to work on a hybrid. ???

My last gen3 no start was a hair puller. Ran on starting fluid but otherwise would not run. In the process of testing spilled gas on the shop floor. Go back 30 min later gas still on floor. Wait.... Gas evaporates. Tank FULL of WATER! Wth! Put fuel line into cans command pump on, put in new gas bingo.....

I've also had a no code crank sensor give me a run around. Once every two months you're backing out of the driveway and the car says to put in park not charging. FAE Italian crank sensor we finally found by really picking over the Freeze Frame data.

Next to the code there will be a “snowflake” icon. If you click on that it will provide more details ;).

I apologize for my random postings. I'm new to Priuschat also. In order to respond to a particular post, do I select reply within that post, and my response will be attached to that somehow..? I think that is right, although I've been posting just at the end so far... Sorry for messing things up... And again, thanks for all the feedback you've all been providing.....

Well, if I wasn't overwhelmed before, I sure am now. Just puled reports for Hybrid Control and Engine / ECU .... Too much for me to digest right off.... I have to go to work now, and not sure what exactly to Freeze Frame capture at this point. I got some data, and then tried to record start sequence, but as you can guess, I don't know how to get the right info....

What are acceptable file types for upload. I have Symphony, extension is .odt, guess I would need to translate to a pdf ..?

    Thanks again everyone

If you take a picture of the screen with your phone and post it, that is the easiest way;).

    Keep us posted (y).

You've got that correct. Also, if you want to quote just a portion, you highlight/select that text, and there should be a pop-up with the option reply, will quote just that portion. This much easier on a computer than a phone: if on a phone maybe just quote the whole thing, and/or quote whole thing and then delete some.

Posting pics from your phone, you choose "upload a file", and the pop up is buggy, you need to touch on the TOP line of text "upload a file...", not the button below. Once you've uploaded you can choose to just attach, or embed, using "full image" option. The latter is nicer I think, and it embeds at current cursor location, like this:

I ran a first attempt of Techstream, not sure about recording attempt to start but captured static data this morning. Clicked the 'snowflake' and captured all the Hybrid Control Data. I need to attempt to record a start attempt and post that data. Back to the symptom description, when the MG* tries to start the ICE, does it try to start it like a traditional starter would start a gas engine? Reason I ask, Had my son attempt start, and watched to see if crank or flywheel spun as if being started, and no movement at all. so the MG* does not budge the ICE at all. I've been mentioning that throughout, maybe not explaining it correctly.

No engine RPM and no MAP, the pistons are not moving. Requested RPM....

ICE Siezed IMHO but what do I know!

If you hit the PRINT button on the lower left on techstream and save as PDF it makes a pretty page with all the PIDS

I posted a snapshot of Techstream data that shows Hybrid battery cell statuses... They are certainly lower than when I measured them over a week ago. It is cold here in the Northeast, so with no charging happening, I understand that they would become discharged... I read elsewhere that if your Hybrid battery gets discharged, it can only be recharged by dealer. Is that true? Can you charge individual pairs with a t12V trickle charger?

I've rotated the ICE off the lower pulley, spins normally
