There is an article on a Turbo'd Prius (Pre-"First Gen" model) and the SuperCharger was NOISY! so it was ditched.

    I disagree.

    - Space inside the engine bay of the Prius is limited.
    - Heat from the turbo will def. kill everything inside the engine bay if not properly confined.
-And cost, that depends on how you create the custom turbo setup, ie equal length manifolds, log style manifolds, or just adapter plates.
    - Lag depends on the type of turbo you are using combined with the setup you are trying to run. If you are to say use a very small ball bearing turbo on a Prius, I do not think lag will be obvious.
    - Superchargers do not give you the most power/bang for the buck. It all depends on your setup vs a turbo setup.
    - Concern for the energy efficency, that depends on your setup. Superchargers uses the engines own power to power the blower. So you lose power to make power. Turbos uses used exhaust gases to propel a turbine. So free wasted energy to make power vs horsepower to make horsepower.
