You either get lucky and someone else has had this exact same problem or you pull the codes / sub codes.

You should be out of gas by now. So how long has the key been stuck in the ignition lock?

If the problem is that the ignition key switch is stuck:

    - try slightly rotating the steering wheel as you turn the key. The front wheels should be pointing straight ahead.
    - if that doesn't help then you'll have to get help to reach the back of the switch and disconnect the wiring harness connector from it.

No, the key is not stuck, he's going thru a "rebalance" cycle (as I've heard it called before). Turn the car off then back on and voila, its fixed. :)

I was going by "the engine won't turn off" which suggested he could not turn the ignition off. <grins>

But I also noticed there wasn't much gas in the tank, a single bar, so it would have easily run out of gas by the time I read the note. <GRINS>

Hey guys thanks for all the input. Luckily later that day, everything went back to normal on it's own :)

I was afraid my battery was going to explode since it kept charging lol
