On the dash up by your speed, there is a light that says ready. Do I have something on and not know it, or is it normal?

Next, does this area light up, or show anything? By light up I don't mean a cabin light, but show radio info or something.

    Thanks

The "Ready" light is to inform you that all the systems in your Prius have started, checked themselves and are all "A-OK", and are READY for you to drive! :) It ain't RocketScience, you know!!!

    But it's close!

Not that I recall. It's kind of wasted space, iirc.

Seems odd to have that there, like it could be a screen or have radio info always on there.

Or, to put it another way, if the READY light is not lit up, then the car cannot drive.

You already got the answer to the first one :)

As for the second, nope. In the 2004-2005 models, it came with a cassette and CD player/changer (depending on model) so that space was used for the cassette tape. When they removed the cassette tape player in 2006, they were left with that space.
