Got the pressures fixed back at the dealership. They are 39psi now, and it drives so much smoother and more comfortably now, wow.

Get a pressure gauge or three. (y)

Stick style are oft maligned, but there’s some respected names. One British one in particular; name escapes me.

Probably because most are cheap; almost of free give away quality.

I have a lower end Campell Hausfeld dial one, but my goto is a Slime dial. You don't need to keep it held to the valve stem to get a reading; the the needle freezes, and resets with a push of a button.

Digital ones would be some of the easiest to read, but is it worth it to be dealing with batteries for a person.

    You mean PCL? https://www.pclairtechnology.com/tyre-care-tools/tyre-pressure-gauges
Yeah, it is a quality made instrument. But, for me, the engraved numbers and lines are too hard to read especially in dark. I like the back-lit digital one that dual functions as a pressure gauge as well as a tread depth gauge.

Yes. I have a wide range PCL (British), and a Milton (US), both stick style.

The PCL seem very durable, metallic inner stick with the increments, well embossed but a little tight to read. Quite accurate too I believe.

The Milton Is a shorter but adequate range, white plastic inner stick, fairly easy to read, but yeah plastic. AND, the Milton, after trial and error comparison to my various other gauges (including a digital), appears to read high by about 3 psi. But I like it’s feel, have just taped a bit of masking tape on the barrel, noting the error.

Some "grease monkeys" at shops think they are doing you a favor by over-inflating your tires.
    They should be fired.

You really should get a digital tire gauge.
Less than $10......and it will work on your next car too !! :)

BUT..... what does "a hot day" have to do with it; why is that any different than a cold day ??

AND.....it depends on how low the pressure really is.
A flat will leave you stranded.
If it still has some pressure, probably not.

That is not how Toyota TPMS works. At anytime when you set, or initialize the sensors, it takes note of the current pressure. If the pressure deviates 12~13% it triggers the warning. Some cars have more expensive TPMS systems that can read each tire pressure individually and indicate to the driver the actual pressure and which tire.

Toyota does read the tire pressures individually. If each tire has a sensor (and they do because they have to), it has to read them individually. You can see them in Techstream and some of the OBDII phone apps. They're just too cheap or lazy to display them on the Prius.

How do you get tire pressure readings on the app? I bought a 2021 ltd and it doesn’t show on my app.
