    Another fail for GM.

This is why I would not buy a Volt either.

I work in the semiconductor industry and in my remote office we design the best battery charger, balancer, and discharger chips. They are used in a couple of the German hybrids and EV's and they are used in 3 of the major Japanese car companies that sell here in the states. The big 3 say they are too expensive. And they are expensive. But they are the best. The Japanese and Germans know this, and use them. GM hasn't learned anything. Build cheap crap with a shiny coating and snazzy marketing, sell it to people who buy the crap that spews from them, and hope your design failures don't pop up until after the warranty expires.
