I placed an order for a Prius T3 today (yipee!), delivery in 1-2 weeks (so no problems with stock then).

The salesman said there would be a price rise tomorrow, we'll find out soon enough if he was right!

    Regards,
    John

There's a price increase in the U.S. as Prius Team have just announced effective on Oct 18.

Still no official conformation on UK price rises. I spoke to a Toyota dealer salesman, and he said Prius prices have gone up by £700 for T3 and T4, and by £900 for T-Spirit. So this makes the on-the-road list prices as follows:

    T3 was £18390, now £19090
    T4 was £20010, now £20710
    T-Spirit was £21230, now £22130

Hopefully the pricelist on the Toyota UK web site will be updated shortly.

I assume this is due to the poor exchange rate of the pound against the euro. UK prices will also rise again 1st January 2010 when VAT goes back up (expected to rise from 15% back to 17.5%).

Some good news for UK car buyers, the scrappage scheme has been extended to a further 100,000 cars (announced today mainly because the Labour Party annual conference is taking place).

I took advantage of the scheme and am scrapping my Carina E, which takes £2000 off Prius prices (more is available on some other models).

I have another old car in the driveway, so if someone wants a new Prius for £1000 less then the above new prices please PM me :)

    Regards,
    John

PS I have also noticed that UK Toyota dealers are selling off their 3-month old demonstration Prius cars. Searches on line showed the lowest price was about £19500 for a T-Spirit with 4,000 miles.
