    Galaxee,

I did the same exact thing yesterday except I was at the Toyota dealership!

They were in having their Tundra serviced and looking at the one Prius on the lot. They came over to me and I did my evangelist bit. Funny the salespeople didn't even give them any attention at all especially since they weren't busy...

It ws the most Prii I've seen in one place: 1 on the lot, 2 of us getting parts and 2 others in the service bay...

The last couple times I've been asked about my car, and I start telling what I think is interesting... I usually give them a priuschat card, telling them they can learn much more here....they look at it and ask..' are you a salesman ?'... I just grin and say no I love my car..

Thanks to TonyPSchaefer for the cards...

It would only be "obvious" if the guys hanging out with you were the Under 16 crowd. Then I almost guarantee a lot of legal attention and perhaps a few interviews on the cable news channels.

I must admit that this is one of the more interesting threads we've had in a *long* time.

I'm still waiting for the first person to ask me about the Prius.

and AGAIN! Just getting gas during lunch, some guy pulls into the gas station and asks, "Hey! Those things really get that good gas mileage?". So I'm like, "Well, so far I've been averaging 56/58mpg....", to which he replies, "Wow, good luck with it!"

Jeez, I haven't even had it for a WEEK YET! :D

From the article: "Hummers should come with Viagra in the glove box. They absolutely scream overcompensation."

    Dan:

Geez I really don't know what to say. In a few previous posts the topic of Prius and sex appeal came up, and I really *do* think it's a Chick Magnet.

Granted the Prius isn't the only reason I get lucky, but since I've had the car I *always* have younger women stopping to chat:

"Oh my, that's a hybrid car. Does it get BIG fuel economy?"

"Hop in baby, let's find out ..."

    Seriously: Prius = Chick Magnet.

Oddly enough, a lot of younger guys (12-18 age group) also appear to be *very* interested in the car too. That can get a bit creepy. Perhaps Godiva should move up here?

LOL, I think I know what the problem is... Population. I would imagine Durham, NH isn't exactly a "hopping" place... Not that that's a bad thing, I'm just saying, not enough "traffic" so to speak...

I imagine my town, Durham NC, is probably a little more populated than Durham, NH. But I can't say I get TOO much attention out and around town. Usually just when I'm washing the car at my apartment complex. Maybe it's the city name? The cursed name of Durham...

    Hmm.

I hope people there are educated.... I was rather insulted when someone asked me if my Prius was a Focus. WHAT??? I've never heard a more insulting comment about my car! And that includes the snob who kept telling me that hybrids are useless.

Seventy miles south of Durham in Pinehurst, I never get anything from anybody no matter what I am doing with it, to it or in it. It was incredibly different with the Insight in the same area.

LOL! It's situations like that where I wish I could push a button on my Prius key, and a life sized hologram of Axl Rose would appear before the mark, bringing his microphone up to his mouth, and in with an ear-splitting shriek, yell out, "MAN, YOU'RE CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZZZZAAAAAAAAY!"

Funny I live near a High School and none of the kids, male or female give my car a second look. I get the impression they just either don't think it looks cool or aren't interested in hybrids. I think they're more the corvette types. Or maybe they think it's an old lady car because I'm driving it.

However I have had several mature men ask me about the car. Unfortunately, they were interested in...the car. Mostly mileage. Some interest in how it works. Or maybe that I *know* how it works. I find it amusing that when I pop the hood they are just fascinated. Those of us who have a Prius....tell me...is there anything to *see* under the hood? Really? I mean at least in my old car there were belts and fans going. And they engine would make noise and vibrate a little. This car? Nothing.

Maybe that's the fascination? That nothing is happening?
