I am trying to install a angel eyes outer rim LED that takes very little power. I would like to have this light turn on whenever the car is in READY. After reading through few mod thread here, seems like best option is fuse #27. That fuse used 10A and is stated as inverter and converter. I would like to know what this does before tapping into it.

Or can anyone tell me any other fuse that is suitable. It need to be HOT only at READY.

    Thanks.

edit: made a mistake, fuse #27 is the one I am talking about.

It would be a better idea to use a slot that is not in use. Like heated seats?
Depending on which package you have, you'll have some empty fuse slots.
That's what I used for installing my cameras, and another for the extra usb slots.

"IF" something goes wrong with the led's and it blows the fuse, you lose your inverter/converter.
I don't think the car will run if they are gone. :)

And you can use an inline fuse.

i am referring to the fuse box under the hood in the engine bay. Not the one under dash. It will be too much work (and messy) to pull wire into the dash.

But you are right on the fuse being blown for the inverter/converter. Car will be dead.

Anyway, what the inverter and converter fuse actually does?

I guess it takes care of the inverter converter. :)
There are empty slots in the box under the hood also. Fog lights?
If you don't have fog lights, then you can tap into that. Just make sure you use the fused size.
So that if the fuse blows, the wiring is protected.

I do have foglamp. However, the foglamp fuses are located on the inside fusebox.

Can you point in the picture, which empty slot you are referring to?

As I've said in other posts now and then, the labels on Toyota's fuse boxes are about as useful as the ones in your Grandpa's fuse box. You know, where one of the fuses has "hall light" scribbled next to it, and turns out to be the hall light, the dishwasher, smoke alarms, and doorbell.

If you are looking at the actual wiring diagram (more info), then you know what a fuse actually does. If you're not, you don't. Them's the rules.

Again, that's Grandpa's fuse-box door, not the wiring diagram.

I don't see a photo. I have NO idea what your car has. Except fog lights, now.
How often do you use them? You can still use that fuse.
Take the cover off, look at the fuses, read what they are. If you see something that you don't
have on your model, you can use that one.
There is an excellent change that what the cover says it is, then that is what it is.

What the cover says is supplied by a fuse is ... pretty much all the time ... one of the things supplied by the fuse. ;)

In this case, RRxing came through with the goods in #9 ... that is a good fraction of a 2010 wiring diagram manual. It's missing the front matter, harness repair info, overall diagram, location-and-routing section, and fuses/junctions/relays section. So it's a little more work to find a fuse you're looking for. But the one mentioned in #3 is in there (10A PCU, page 220), and if you follow it over to page 223 you can see it is one of those nice ones where what Grandpa said it's supplying really is the only thing it's supplying.

I noticed a different fuse box configuration between the USA and Malaysia. Perhaps abubin has a JDM version.

Each country probably has a slightly different configuration, that's why you have to check YOUR
fuse box. From the diagram RRxing supplied this is what I would try. BUT, check YOUR fuse box
cover and see if they match!!!!
