Thanks for the efforts, however, I suspect there is a more elegant, less tidy way of doing it. I will wait to @Tideland Prius to comment on this and on my first question point.
"The qualified plug-in electric drive motor vehicle credit phases out for a manufacturer’s vehicles over the one-year period beginning with the second calendar quarter after the calendar quarter in which at least 200,000 qualifying vehicles manufactured by that manufacturer have been sold for use in the United States" I believe its quite clear from the IRS. Begins the 2nd quarter after they fulfill their 200,000 quota. 3 months. Unsupervised!
1. Compare what it doesn't say: begins with the first calendar quarter after the calendar quarter in which at least 200k ... 2. With what it does say: begins with the second calendar quarter after the calendar quarter in which at least 200k ... Say the phase-put is triggered Jan 1st then by (1) the credit would be halved April 1st and by (2) the credit would be halved from July 1st
Wait so multi-quote IS available in tapatalk? (but not available on the PriusChat app?) Hmm... There isn't a quick way as far as I know. The one way is what Jerry showed where you quote the text you want from the same person, and then remove the username in the quote so that the open tag only has "quote" with [] on either end rather than quote=username (if I write it out, it'll mess up this response by actually putting my text into a quote box so hopefully it makes sense). The other way I usually do is quote the entire post and then just write my responses to each part in the box. The person to whom you replied should be able to make sense of your response.
They are asking over sticker in Los Angeles for the Prime. I guess some are paying it. I won't. I'm going to pass on the Prime. I'll be keeping my Plug in for 2 more years and see what's available then. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
We allways have to wait 4-5 Months for an ordered car here in Europe, but no dealer over here would ever ask for over sticker .
PlugIn guy, who's asking over sticker? I haven't heard of anyone still doing that. I'm either at sticker, or under it a little. Not over.
Lincoln Ne is not that far...come over and buy one Posted via the PriusChat mobile app. And at Baxter they are not going to sell over sticker price....period....they are good dealership....I have 1 from them and other from NY dealership....
I'm hoping that the demand here in Austin -- Austin being the proverbial "blue dot in a sea of red" -- will be high enough to get some of Toyota's attention. However, I was given more-specific information about my order: that they are building mine this month for delivery in May or June. Are they being over-optimistic, or baiting me? I don't know, but it is a specific statement at least. I've decided that I need to just keep bird-dogging them to make sure that the order really is moving forward. Like somebody replied, I have been considering going out to CA to get one. A vacation to San Francisco -- fly to and drive back -- sounds like a deal to me! Another vague possibility might be to wait (even longer most likely) for a Chevy Bolt. For me, the big downside of the Bolt is its comparatively-limited ADAS functionality, and especially no automatic emergency braking. iPhone ? Pro
Toyota of Hollywood asked me to pay over sticker. They also own Toyota of Santa Monica. This was 2 months ago. I was super excited the Prime was out to replace my 2014 Plug-In and checked out the Prime's in the lot. The Prime is not for me. Appreciate the MPG and growing technology. I still owe 10K at zero interest. When it's paid for I'll see what AWD high MPG choices are on the market. In LA, I virtually always see dealers adding their own sticker to the cars. I think it's called a dealer pack, but that may be something different. The salesman said there was a lot of demand from the Entertainment community especially grom those who were anticipating the lower price Tesla that was delayed. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Just FWIW, here in Austin (TX, or the Austin vicinity at least), two dealers wanted sticker, and two wanted slightly over (10%ish) over. One of the two who wanted sticker, notably Round Rock Toyota, I have a long, mostly-positive history with, so I went with them. iPad ? Pro
As several of the good people here suggested, I bought mine out of state and it should be here either this weekend or early next week. The color combo I wanted [blue/moonstone] was available in VT with a $1500 Toyota Rebate off MSRP which more than covered the trucking charges for me. I wanted to drive it to TX but 1900 is a bit daunting. If you do not want to wait until May or June, look into going out of the Lone Star State for a Prime.
Yes, I am kicking around that possibility, perhaps in conjunction with a San Francisco vacation, although that's more likely in the event that it'll take longed than May-June. iPhone ? Pro
Sorry about your experience in the Hollywood area. Had you checked a few more dealers like Longo, or others in Orange County, you'd have found a far financially friendlier environment. I got my Prime Advanced in 2 days after contacting Longo for sticker minus $1000 Toyota instant rebate. They delivered the car to my house and gave me the turnover here. BTW, that adendum sticker is called the dealer markup, and so far, I haven't seen it out here at the 4 dealerships I visited. Your recent auto ownership experience is close to mine: I owned a 2012 PIP with 103000, which I just sold for $10k to a dealer. The Prime experience is just that, Prime! The Prime is much quieter and smoother. The attention to detail is so much better. Don't even talk about real world mileage: with the short range heavy traffic surface street and freeway driving that I do in OC, I'm pushing 2000 miles of range on a 10 gal fill up. My 2012 PIP only went 9 miles on a charge, if I was lucky, and there's no comparison in quality or tech features. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Washington State is on the West Coast but I was told the Prime could not be ordered here. My salesman called me March 4th to say they had been told they could finally take orders, for delivery 3 to 4 months out. I ordered a red w/black interior Premium on March 6th. Talked with my sales guy today and was told it is on order but he doesn't know yet when to expect it to arrive. I am anxiously waiting for it!
I went to Toyota of San Bernardino for mine (as they were the only location in all of the SouthLand who had the package I wanted with an acceptable color scheme), got a rebate of a grand and another $500.00 off the sticker. Of course they put their own sticker on the car but I just ignore that completely. Unless they put something "Value added" on the car like wheels or tint, it's just fluff and they know it. You just need to let them know YOU know it. Haha!
Tough call which is more beautiful... This time of year, when it's not raining quite so much, might actually be more lovely in WA than CA... Love the Peninsula especially! iPhone ? Pro
