    Seattle to Portland: 55.5 mpg
    Portland to Seattle: 56.3 mpg
Time: late afternoon, evening 5pm to 9 pm both trips
    Temp: mid 80's
Air pressure in tires: 38 front, 36 rear
    Passengers: none
    Me: 185 lbs.
    Wind: neglible
    Average speed: 62 mph

These are the highest freeway miles I've ever gotten for a trip over 50 miles.
Thought I'd post them to find out if this is more common than I thought.

i drive the same route frequently with the exception that the 70 mph run south to Portland from Olympia i have only done a few times. but for Olympia north and back, i nearly always average what you are getting in the summer time.

now i have averaged 60 mpg on 6 of 7 tanks since May so your numbers could be construed as being a bit low for some
