Just picked up a 2007 Prius 5, is there a way to update the navigation software in this vehicle?

Unless you need real-time traffic, I'd say skip it and use the maps on your smartphone instead. If you don't have a smartphone, use the $169 to buy one. 2nd option: get a real good Garmin with lifetime maps and real-time traffic instead.

Or you could buy last years update on ebay(actual DVD, not a copy) for half that price or one that's 2 years old for even less.

I understood that for the cheap ebay version to work, you first need to take out the dome fuse. Then wait 5 minutes. And then put it back, and start the car.
I wonder if doing that is going to mess up all sorts of other stuff, like the smart key for instance. Anyone?
