I contracted to purchase a vehicle but I am wondering of I should follow through. It looks like it has recently had some issues but I need help determining of the issues are serious. I need to pay 5k to get it.

I would be concerned that the engine overheated in March 2015. An all-aluminum engine will not withstand much abuse.

If you are serious about buying this car, the engine compression should be checked (or a cylinder leakdown test performed), and the engine oil and engine coolant should be checked to make sure there is no intermixing of engine fluids. Make sure that no current DTC are being logged by any of the car's ECUs.

There is also mention of a battery being replaced in November 2014. Is this just the 12V battery; or is this referring to the high voltage traction battery?

It might have the infamous EGR issue - where the carbon is built up in the EGR passages and the valve itself.

It may be difficult to verify this, but this engine may have an oil consumption issue if the previous owner complained about the oil level to the dealer.

And as Patrick says, this engine may have overheated more than once. This car may be one to pass on.

OP: please redact the image and remove the VIN and owner info.
this only a good deal if very cheap for a project car. 200,000 miles on a water pump is actually not bad. i wonder if there were any warning signs. not having access to temp gauge sucks.

Ok, try again, OP's images, cropped and contrast raised a bit:
