and AC Delco PF1233 oil filter . Previous oil was SHELL synthetic 5w-30 (S.N.) with the PF1233 oil filter . Oil ran from 10/13/12 > 2/7/13 . Always use a Toyota air filter ( 17801-0T030 ) . Drove the car 19 miles before getting the sample . The SHELL synthetic was / is $3.33 a quart and the PF1233 are $ 4 each . This oil / filter combo should do well for the Prius C and the 1st/2nd generation Prius . Here are the results . 2008 Yaris sedan U.O.A. 21213 001.jpg

If their 5W oil met the specs for 0W, they would be required to call it a 0W since that is an SAE standard and SAE requires that.

Pour point isn't as significant as the low temperature cranking pumping tests. That's why they are required to do the cranking and pumping tests under SAE J300 to rate the oil at low temperature instead of the much easier pour pint test.

These aren't very good results compared to some of the other UOA posts. Consider Mr. Incredible's UOA. He's got more miles and the engine is still breaking in, but his iron is half yours. It's hard to make a fair comparison between different cars and drivers and driving environments, but that's a big difference.

Here's my factory fill for reference. It's almost a mirror image of Mr.Incredible's initial change, but mine had >8k on it.
