Another good guess (and it may well be true) but its not what I was thinking of.

Good guesses all, but nope, nope, nope.

I'm at work for a few more hours and I'll wait until then to put an end to the suffering.

Godiva: no, we've got em, but Antarctica has more
Moxiequz: yes we've got lots of marmite, canned spaghetti, and evil meat pies, but

Are you calling me "Uncle Sam"?

Anyway, the answer is books (acceptable answers would also have been bookstores and libraries). NZ has, for many many years, had the largest number of books per head of population.

    So who goes next? Boo?

Oh man. Godiva should have gotten that one.

I haven't come up with a correct answer yet, so I can't go.

But relatedly, whatever happened to the other Sam ... our OP, saminjax?

Don't know whatever became of saminjax.

    Is that your question Boo?

If not, pick a different one. You were the last poster before the answer was revealed; that counts as "correct" in my rule book.

    I'm not worthy. But OK.

JFK Jr's last residence in Manhattan was on "N Moore" Street.

What does the "N" stand for?

(BTW, I'm not sure there's an indisputable correct answer.)

    North?
'No. M(o)ore Street' would be appropriate.

That's what almost everyone thinks it is. And that's what maps will show if they spell out the "N".

But there are a lot smart, scholarly people who believe that the N stands for something else.

What do you mean you excluded flora and fauna?

Aren't sheep fauna and golf courses flora?

The only thing left is mineral.

    It's not diamonds, that's Africa.

    It's not opals...that's Australia.

    Picnic tables?

    Books per capita?

Because it wouldn't be books total.

Hmmm. No, I never would have guessed that. I would have suspected several other countries but not New Zealand. Boy, you guys must love to read AND have lousy TV reception.

    Not "New" and not "North".

    How about "Narrow"?

    Nathaniel is it.

Nathaniel Moore was some guy from the 1700s.

There's a book out about New York City street names and their origins. This book claims that the N indeed stands for North, and not Nathaniel. But I haven't read the book so I choose not to believe it.

You would think that New York City could easily settle this dispute. But as a lifelong New Yorker, I say "Not in my lifetime."

Either Hyo or Godiva should go next.
