    Here is a gimme...

"Hello, I'm Jerri Blank and I'm a 46-year-old high school freshman. For 32 years I was a teenage runaway. I was a boozer, a user, and a loser. My friends were dealers, cons, and 18 karat pimps. But now I'm out of jail, picking up my life exactly where I left off. I'm back in high school, living at home, and discovering all sorts of things about my body. I'm finding out that though the faces have changed, the hassles are just the same."

That's that show that used to be on Comedy Central - "Strangers with Candy." I've never watched it, other than a blip here and there, so that was a gimme...

What's the name of Dot Matrix's little brother? For bonus points, what's the name of his dog?

My son used to watch that show - Enzo is the little brother, but I have no recollection of his dog. (The show is or was Reboot - is it still running?)

Without the use of the internet, can you tell me which U.S. president was in office during the “Teapot Dome Scandal?" Extra credit if you can name the state in which Teapot Dome is located.

Don't they teach history any more?
This one seems particularly relevant given it was all about oil!

Harding was president. Teapot dome was an oil field in Wyoming. It was being held by the government as an emergency supply for the future envisioned when oil supplies would run out.
The administration was corrupt and gave Sinclair oil a sweetheart exclusive deal to pump the oil.

    This was in the 1920s!

EXCELLENT! The Harding administration was one of the more corrupt ones in American history. Your question...

Maybe samiam wants to keep his post total where it is for awhile. It'll take him another one thousand, one hundred and eleven posts to make 2,222.

Sorry for the delay guys, I was away doing important stuff.

OK, for MQ here is some NZ trivia. Realising it is a big ask for you guys to have any appreciable knowledge about little Aotearoa, I'll make it a two-part multi-chioce:

    Part I
Q: How many volcanoes are currently active in NZ right now, today (June 3)?
    a. none
    b. one
    c. three
    d. nine
    e. 49

    Part II
Q: How many volcanoes in the Auckland City volcanic field?
    (same choices as above)

    Hmm.

Part I: I'm going to say (d) nine.

Part II: If the question is how many volcanoes are active in the Auckland City volcanic field I'll say (a) none (I remember reading the field was dormant). If the question is how many volcanoes (dormant or not) are in the field I'll say (e) 49.

    you've got 50% correct.

There are 49 distinct volcanoes in the Auckland field. All of them are inactive (some are too recent to be called dormant). They are really quite nice to look at and have supplied the older parts of the city with curbstones that I always hate to see get replaced with concrete.

But, the answer to Part I is not "nine".

    Pick again.
