Hi all, my wife's 2012 V needs a new subframe. I replaced the control arms last year, and turbo buggered the driver side as the original control arms were rusted to the control arm bolt. This also broke the attached nut/threads in the subframe. Long story short, I put in a temporary fix and now it's let loose. Rattles galore over bumps - so - time to fix my mistake!

Looking on ebay - there are either new Aftermarket subframes or Used OEM subframes - I'm leaning towards the aftermarket since new=no chance for rust and also a better chance for the additional layer of rustproofing paint followed by Fluid Film to stick to everything nicely.

    Anyone have any insight/input? Thanks!

I would get a used subframe from a southern state like Texas. No rust and no fit problems.

Of course I am already in Texas and have no rust and no fit problems. Plus local access to used parts and a good independent shops run by a hard working guy. He does an engine swap a week and usually drops the subframe. He can replace an engine in a day.

I would vote for used OEM subframe.
As RJ mentioned, purchase from a "sunny" state.
The OEM could be expertly prepared by you before installing and should fit 100% with no modification.
    Good luck with your decision.
