Got a great deal on this so placed my order and it was delivered today.

Want to use this on my next oil change but have another brand still that I may use that is 0w16 since it will be getting cold.

Anyway if this does what it claims then I will stick to this new oil and switch the wifes oil to it also.

I read the reviews and they all are positive. 20240925_184238.jpeg 20240925_184248.jpeg

Yeah liquid oil is going to restore and protect your engine yadda yadda does that even sound feasible this generally snake oil business Don't know the model or anything you have but you're running the zero so it's a generation 3 so if you're an extreme cold 016 may be appropriate If not the 020 is what you should be using and if it's extremely hot I'm not sure I haven't really looked at the chart for that car whatever it is you won't probably be doing it for a real long time You've got other things fixing to come down the pipeline that engine oil is not going to protect and restore from what's coming Just read forward and you'll hear all about it.

There are over 400 reviews with positive remarks and even pictures of them opening their engines and showing how clean it is.

To each their own though...you can use any oil you want, Im not saying go and get it.

So you’re saying what, you bought some oil? That’s good. It’s a cool looking bottle for sure.

Its a new oil they created that helps clean the engine to like new condition.

Hence the name restore and protect.

It doesn't work. You can get it at walfart.
I've done 5, or 6 oil changes with it and still burning oil. "IF" it worked, oil consumption
    should have gone down.
It's a "hopefull" wish to try to extend the life of my engine.

You can try it, it's only $5 more then regular synthetic oil. Another reason why I tried it,
I figured it was worth few dollars to give it a try.

My engine was like new when I replaced the head gasket so there wasn't really anything to clean.
    Except the oil rings.....

I've contacted valvoline, but no reponse yet....

Well you are just one bad review versus over 400 online.

Maybe it cleaned your engine but your pistons and rings are no good.

Time to get new ones for sure.

I will take the words of over 400 reviews saying it works over your one bad review.

I dont think Valvoline is just bluffing.

There was an earlier Valvoline Restore oil that was so aggressive it is no longer recommended as it was essentially a flush intended for extreme short duration use. It ended up damaging some engines and was expensive.

The new version is intended for normal use but the “restore” claims have proven to be marketing versus reality especially for the numerous Toyota engines with low tension rings. The idea that it is a chemical solution to stuck rings that have already caused oil consumption has proven false.

So what we have is a marketing claim on a “safe” oil with Restore in the name at a 20% price premium to other full synthetics.

Yeah the snake oil manufacturers are always getting in somebody's pocket and best office just straight up oil with minimal amount of additives and silliness because you're just being charged for that if you think something's going to do something by the additive yourself and add it if you think never seen any of that stuff really do anything I'm taking cars to $500,000 and using regular oil I'm not going to say well if I used AmSoil or such and such and so and so I would go a million miles That's kind of not really sound thinking and where I live not so much we've always been getting excellent service with the Toyota's It's not how anything to do with oil gas or tire choices had to do with Toyotas manufacturing prowess and build quality which Toyota motor sales USA has let a lot of that Wane. That's a choice only they can make We as consumers have to make sure we are aware of whatever the idiots are doing

You should know that most "reviews" are from the manufacturer.
And rarely do you see bad reviews.

My engine was clean. The head had a very light film that I could wipe off with my finger.

And why would it clean the whole engine, but NOT the rings??? Is it smart oil?
Then it should clean the rings and pistons and not the rest of the engine since that's what
they seem to imply that since they show the piston.....

And they say it will 100% clean it in 3 or 4 oil changes.
    It didn't work.

    I didn't write a review, I made a statement based on evidence.
What you do with it is up to you.

The reviews are from Amazon not from Valvoline directly as I would understand the reviews being fake or picked out.

The Amazon reviews are all legit though.
I can also detect when the reviews on there are not legit but they are all good with this product.

Your engine is beat up compared to mine so I just want to keep it as clean and running new as possible.

It would appear dogman’s engine was maintained better since he still has his original engine.

My point is you don’t have to pay a marketing premium to keep a clean engine clean. The shorter intervals make the difference.

Regardless the chemistry inside the oil ring grooves is different than the oil by itself as you have significant fuel dilution in the rings.

It may look that way to you but an engine that burns oil will need a catalytic converter very soon.

Pouring in high mileage oil or thicker weight oil is a bandaid versus repairing the issue of bad piston rings.

Maybe he doesnt care about the car that much and will dump it when the cat fails.

    You think Amazon's review's are real?????? o_O
I've got some really nice waterfront property for you for a great price!

    I do care about my engine. That's why I maintain it. I had 2 '78 Corolla's and a '76 Corona
with over 200,000 miles on each one. A '90 Probe(Mazda Engine) with close to 200,000 miles,
'02 Town&Country with 375,000 miles on it, and various other's.
All had their issues, but if you take care of things, they will last longer.

My engine is NOT beat up. I don't drag race it. I drive it like a Prius. I take care of it and want it
to last a long time, and it has.
Had you taken the time to read, I said I tried it because it was inexpensive to try. And "IF" it worked,
great, but if it didn't, no big deal. It was worth the experiment. I also tried seafoam in the oil before
changing it. I don't believe that worked either. Worth the $8 to try.

I plan on replacing it sooner or later. When it's burning enough oil. And "IF" it needs a converter,
I'll get one. All that still costs a LOT less than a new car.

If someone came up with a jig to rotate the engine w/o the spark plugs, I'd pour kerosene or some other
cleaning agent in the crankcase and let it rotate for a few weeks, that might clean out the oil rings and
    passages.
But the only proper and sure way of cleaning the rings/pistons is to remove them and clean them.
Either with a chemical, or in a glass beader machine, or other similar methode. And if you're going to
go that far, you might as well replace them with the new updated version.....

Already wasted my time with someone who just wants to say the opposite of everyone just to argue.
    Using the "ignore" feature!

Lol nothing is real in your eyes I guess.

Go and read all the reviews on amazon, tell me if you think they are fake, even the 1,2,3 star ratings are basic not really negative.

But if your really using the ignore feature then you wont see this reply, something tells me you try to promote the ignore feature and dont use it.

For your information I never argue, that raises blood pressure to get do upset over nothing.

I just debate back n forth that is all.
Others on here seem to get their blood boiling very easy and have zero control over their emotions.
