I've seen a few mentions of training the voice recognition system, but I haven't seen anything about how to do it. I've looked in the manuals for our 2015 Prius Four, and I've searched online, but I can't find anything.

I've tried the navigation system, and it wanted to take me to Chestnut Dr. instead of Chester Dr., in a city with only one consonant that matched what I said, and in a State a couple of thousand miles away.

That's some pretty bad voice recognition. Have you tried asking for a destination that was already in the car's address book? Maybe that would help. The most useful command I found is Go Home!

    Pardon?

I think the voice recognition goes the other direction. My garage door has a telephone number, so I can call it when I am near my driveway and door will be up and waiting for me.

"Call garage ("Ga-rah-ge")" gets me the dreaded, "Pardon?"

I have been trained to say "Call garage (""Ga-ridge"") Works every time.

I just hope the Prius doesn't trade me in for a better unit.

After further investigation, it seems that voice recognition training is is a feature only of the Entune Premium Audio system.

I don't believe that any Prius audio system supports training -- if you have something to the contrary, please share.

Toyota's voice recognition system is a joke. It may be different from Gen3, but on my PRIME, it can't recognize "Call Home" command most of the times. I gave up on it a long, long time ago. Stick with Siri, Google Now, or even Cortana. They all understand the voice command far better.
