Great !! Now all they need is to mass-produce electric cars in the US, build a charging Network, and deliver it with a great warranty. No problem.

Well, they are working on the charging network, just not by choice. ;)

Great when an EV comes to market here, but the reality is that we aren't even second fiddle in terms of plug in market on the world stage.

So we can get pissy about EVs not being available in the US, which is something enthusiasts in other segments have been doing for awhile, or we can hopeful of EV success elsewhere means they will come here. Of the traditional car makers, VW is the one that has invested the most into BEVs so far. With a new factory in China, and expansion of plants in Germany and the US to make BEVs.

Maybe after Volkswagen produces at least 100K electric vehicles out of Tennessee, we can take them with more than a grain of salt. Until then? They've done a lot of harm. Even so, I wish them the best, and I hope their USA production braggig is more sincere then there diesel emissions scam.

I'm saying we can not judge an international car company's dedication to EVs by what they sell in the US, the land of cheap gasoline.
The fact is that North America is the number three market for EVs, and it will not be a priority for car companies in Europe and Asia because of that.

I understand we might not be first choice or while a manufacturer is battery quantity availability constrained. But if they had a winner, there would be money to be made after those needs were met.

Which is part of the reason we will be getting the ID4.
Another reason for not getting the ID3 here is that cars aren't popular here now.

Good thing the home country of Tesla isn't scaring them EV-less. So instead, they send their ICE and diesel to compete with Detroit.

A power search at Fueleconomy.gov for 2020MY and electricity for fuel yields 77 results. Subtract Tesla, GM, Ford, and FCA, and that leaves a good number of foreign make BEVs and PHEVs. They are sending them here. A few are CARB compliance, and many are power PHEVs to give dealers something to compete with Tesla.

There are only 20 diesels. Except for a couple of Land Rovers, they are all Detroit pick ups and SUVs. The super/heavy duty trucks aren't included.
