A UK review of the recently released VW 'e-Up' electric city car. The Up is a smaller version of the VW Polo and in the same bracket as the Fiat 500. It has been on sale for a few years, but the electric version has only just been released.

It's priced well at £19,250/$31,750 (bear in mind our 20% vat/sales tax!) after the £5,000 EV grant, and compares well to the base model new Leaf which is priced at £20,995/$34,600. A base Prius here costs £21,845/$36,000. So despite being a smaller car, the e-Up is well priced. Small cars are popular here as our roads and streets are narrow and parking is at a premium.
