Complete guess, but I don't think it'll be until after the summer... say Oct-Nov.

My work commute is 16.5 miles. The result of driving the first half with the PHV was 160 MPG. Upon my return home, the total distance traveled was 33.4 miles and the average displayed on the Eco-Meter was 80.0 MPG. See...

I consider that pretty darn good, especially with only a single charging and 9 miles of travel each way at 70 MPH.

Pretty amazing for something is just about one year away from being an 'off the shelf' consumer product. It will be interesting to hear the comments from the 'it's impossible to make a car that gets over 50mpg' crowd once the PHEV Prius becomes widely available. Hopefully Toyota keeps the price reasonable.

    Heck, I stretched the EV to 17 miles! . . . . I'm guessing he's talkin' 75mpg "on your worst day".

    ;)
