WARNING NOT TO PURCHASED DELPHI MAP SENSORS So after spending a bunch of money trying to fix my P0171 code the problem turned out to be the very first part I replaced. I forget the first engine code I got but it was the MAP sensor code. So I replaced the MAP sensor and then I started getting the P0171 code. So I replaced the MAP sensor again but still had the same problem. So long story short after replacing MAF (Delphi), Fuel Injectors, Air Intake, Throttle Body, MAP, EGR and Cooler the problem was the garbage Delphi MAP sensor. They claim it is for the Prius but it doesn’t fully seat which caused a vacuum leak and sent me chasing ghosts.. So just to get the work out do not by a Delphi MaP get a Denso from Toyota
In general, there isn't a "MAP sensor code" or a "MAF sensor code" or a whatever thing code. There are codes whose fortune cookies have those names in them. But what the codes mean is a certain detection condition was met (the exact condition for each code is in the repair manual), and it is up to a human to work out why that was. Sometimes the problem will be the sensor, sometimes the wiring, sometimes something else. Treating any code as if it just means to go replace whatever thing its fortune cookie mentions is a good way to make boat payments for the part sellers.
