    We had the egr repaired on our 2010 Prius under the warranty extension and they also replaced the manifold. They did not charge us to do the fix for the egr, but charged us for the manifold replacement. Does anyone know of the manifold replacement should be covered by the warranty extension?

    Welcome!
    There was a manifold program iirc. Check the owners website

    How much did they charge for the part, if you know?

    I see it listing on McGeorge Toyota (item 32, complete with (item 33) gasket), is roughly $196 (reduced price), lists for $294~. The same intake manifold part number shows for all third gen years, 2010 through 2015, and is probably the updated manifold, with revised EGR passageways?

    All that was really necessary was to clean the old one, but dealership would much rather throw in new parts. On the other side of the coin, the revised intake should be slightly less clog prone. Or at least it will clog more uniformly, lol: the old manifold is a single large passageway, with 4 tributaries. Whereas the new one goes from one passage to two, and then two four.

    I think...

    Here's the bulletin .. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2016/SB-10084369-5448.pdf

    The odd thing is the replacement manifold part number 17120-37054 , is also the same part number as a 2012 auris manifold .

    Would there be any benefit of changing the manifold on my 2010 or would a clean EGR be just as good ?

    I've got some pics of my (original) 2010 intake manifold, should see if there's a p/n, guessing it would be different.

    You are right,
    I bought a used intake manifold for my prius 2010 III, and replaced the original one which has part #17120-37050 and single large straight passageway. The new one has many small dividers on passageway. After replacing, the MPG slightly dropped 4 miles per gallon.

    Looking through my notes a bit more thoroughly, I found this:

    +++++++++++++
    INTAKE MANIFOLD INFO:
    part number: 17120-37050
    supersceded by: 17120-37051
    Then, for EGR misfire condition, by: 17120-37054
    and then: 17120-37091
    +++++++++++++

    Strange that your mpg dropped: maybe a vacuum leak after the install, or just something unrelated? (n)

    Have you ever replace the gasket? How many miles on the gasket?

    FWIW, I did a cleaning of ours at around 72K kms, and just used original gasket, it looked like new.
