Hi everyone, I hope someone will find this PSA useful. Before buying my car I was a regular carpool passenger using Waze Carpool and Scoop (smartphone apps). Now that I'm driving, I have found a carpool passenger match every time I've driven to work the last two weeks. For my 50-mile one-way commute, I'm getting about $10 from the passenger each time (each way). Even after the cost of gas, this is cutting my total cost of ownership almost in half so far (and I'm only driving 3 days a week). Let me know if you would like a referral code - the app will give both of us a small cash bonus.

Walking the dog yesterday around 5 pm, it was dismaying, the multi-block long back up of rush hour vehicles on our nearby arterial route. The recent road "improvements" which created pinch-points, and reduced many intersections to one-lane-only in each direction, have only aggravated things.

I think a carpool app is commendable.
