Our big cat does this at the earliest light of dawn, while I'm asleep, because the dish might be low. He is too lazy to go check first, and knows that I sleep lightly enough to be wakened easily.

The little arthritic cat does this to get a boost into a lap. While she can jump if necessary, she prefers to get a lift.

PS. A better illustration of what the big cat does is illustrated in Simon's Cat: Cat-Man-Do. I wake at about 1:00, the spouse could go through the whole sequence.

Don't put your old keyboards into landfills - do this.

OK, I thought the cat was on a 2nd keyboard to lure it away from the one his human is using, but the point is still valid

Because we have a white, longhaired cat, we just use a freshly laundered piece of dark clothing to lure her away from everything else.

I don't know the difference between ultra and doll-faced. She looks like the Abominable Snowman from the movie Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. She is an odd eye white Persian.

I never fed my cat until after I'd been up for an hour. This was so as not to train him to wake me up. Feed a cat (or a dog) first thing when you get up, and you'll train them to wake you as soon as they wake up. If my cat woke up before me, he'd quietly go downstairs to his left-over dry food, because he had no association between my getting out of bed and his getting his canned food.

She looks like an ultra Persian - not much of a nose.

The figure behind her is a doll-faced Persian.

    Sometimes blue-eyed cats are deaf.

Is she deaf on one side like some?

She seems to have normal hearing. I have read that odd eyes are sometimes deaf but she can hear quite well.

Our cats also have no association between our getting up and their getting any canned food. Any canned food, only recently added to their diet, comes much later.

This dish has only dry food, normally enough for nighttime snacking for all of them. But occasionally it will run empty overnight, though never long enough for them to clean up the crumbs.

This cat seems concerned that it might possibly be empty, so must wake me before even checking. He can quietly and patiently wait on the other side of a closed bedroom door. But another cat hates a closed door, and noisily paws at it until its opens, regardless of which side she is on.

Kid got what he deserved. Hit a cat and you can expect to get scratched. :fencing:

    The video was funny.

The story I'm about to tell is not funny at all - infuriating in fact

In 1993, a man who made a bet with the rest of his friends sneaked into the lion’s den. The man stroked Chucha, the lioness, who did not react, but Marjan attacked the man and killed him within minutes. The following day, the man’s brother came and threw a hand grenade into the lion’s den, rendering Marjan blind in one eye (which had to be removed), deaf, and permanently disabled. Despite several surgeries, neither Marjan’s eyesight nor his mouth could be saved. He lost all of his teeth, making it impossible for him to eat boned meat. A ramp was also built for him to get back into his den, as he was seen falling a few times while trying to make it back inside. The incident sparked an outrage with animal rights activists. The man who threw the grenade was violently attacked a week later, and died of injuries.

It never fails to amaze me how stupid people are, and, at times, how cruel. At my age, I should not be surprised. But I still am!
