Problem just started. 2010 Prius with 44k miles, one of the first gen IIIs built. Just about trouble free till now. Issue:

Into car, step on brake - push Start button. Most times just fine. BUT - A few times in the last 2 weeks, Hybrid Info screen on dash is blank after start but all is well. About 5 times after a start in last 2 weeks, all warning lights stay on, all screens on, but car not "started" - not ready and engine not on. Hmmm. then another push of start button after a few seconds and warning lights go off and all OK, ready and started. Either of these 'start issues' just began a couple weeks ago, and occurred perhaps 1/4 of the starts. Yes, the brake is depressed and starting correctly (been doing it for 5 years now...)

Concerned that an issue is brewing - want to check with you guys...before bringing it to the Dealer. If so, hope the computer stored error and easily corrected. Anyone else????

simple fix.......most likely your 12v battery is dead. Just change that.

Weird stuff happening? MPGs dropping? Test The Battery | PriusChat

This is mostly focused on Gen 2, but as Gen 3 ages the 12 volt battery will age as well.
So far as I know, there is no internal check on Gen 3, so try Power Windows in ACC and then in Ready, if they are way slower in ACC your battery is low. Four years is not an early death for any 12 volt car battery.

If it is the 12 volt battery, you can have one shipped to you. Optima DS46B24R Optima battery direct fit replacement for Prius 2004 + , Prius V & Plug-in Prius with Instructions
Or start checking locally. There are at least two other direct fit batteries

The GenIII has the same check as GenII. You would press the "Info-phone" button while you turn on and off your headlights 3 times for the test menu to come up on your screen.

You guys are GREAT! I recall reading here a year+ ago about the 12v battery and issues a depleted one could cause. Forgot till your reminders now. Just ordered a replacement online from Apex battery, the Yellow Top Optima. $184 total with shipping, ETA a few days.
    Thanks so much!

Also make sure your brake switch is not going bad.

Is this something specific to your 2010-V trim level?

My 2010-II had no such button. I haven't fully explored some of the additional buttons on my 2012-Three.

I'm really not sure what buttons the other models have. I would think if there is no phone, there should be info button? It's the standard layout of the center console.

There are several standard layouts, varying with the installed audio system. Those with a touch display screen and Nav have much more flexibility than those lacking a display screen. Without a display, an info button is rather useless.
