Weired noise when brake, plese help

    A dial indicator (available from Harbor Freight, etc.) can measure how much the disc wobbles from side to side (difference in thousandths of an inch between the highest and lowest reading on the indicator as you spin the rotor all the way around):



    When you've got this kind of a noise going on, there has to be some reason that contact between something and something is happening at two different spots in the disc's rotation.

    Keep in mind that you get five ways of putting the disc on the hub to choose from, and usually there is one that gives the least runout.

    The video shows an example of an "out of spec" runout being greater than 0.003". Toyota's pickier, and calls for 0.002".
