While the kids are free, the adults still pay .

There are also a lot of tired children there, which elicits a lot of tears and frustration :(.

We always go back for a mid afternoon nap;).

One of the reasons we use the park hotels(y).

FREE@12. Magic Kingdom admission was never free. Adult admission in 1955 was $1 but that for children is not internet-obvious. 'Ride' tickets were bundled into $3.50 paid, originally A B C with D added in 1956 and E in 1959.

Was that cheap at the time? It equaled 12 gallons of gasoline. You tell me.

Over time, Disneyland prices have exceeded inflation. That's Magic for ya. Mouse out front should have told ya.

I remember there was an episode of the Beverly Hillbillies where Jed was going to finance drilling a big hole in the mountains and sticking a big fan in there to suck out all the smog. Whatever happened with that, it sounds like a good idea. :p

i don't mind paying, we all pay for what we want and consider it worth it, or we don't pay.
there is no place like disney, probably my sentimental baby boomer memories.

Perhaps so. That era had less environmental regs. on 'distilling' so gasoline production costs were lower. And, ozone was higher,

gas is even cheaper today then, with all the regs at 3 bucks a gallon?

i was paint 25 cents when i got my first car in '72. most things have gone up way more than that.

million dollar houses were only 15k back then.

In a free market, prices are what each of us is willing to pay;).

So when we go there for a week, we know what we are getting into, but we do certain things to contain cost:
    • Drive down
    • Bring food and water
    • Eat breakfast in the hotel
Disney still gets their cut, but we do our part too(y).

Disneyland protip: You need an elder for this. Rent their wheelchair ($12) or BYO. You get to front of every 'ride' line.

Cost of elder rental (if one is needed) must be negotiated with selected senior living center.

How high does a 'guest' get on Space Mountain ride? Higher than Britton Hill, 345 feet?

Space Shuttle front-row seating was ( :) ) about 175 feet above sea level. but that was an E-ticket ride.

Those few Saturn V occupants started journeys about 350 feet. Topped out at about quarter million miles. Winner.
